History

Mjosundet Båt and Hydraulikk AS (MBH), established in 1926, has a long tradition and, therefore, a solid base of experience in the industry. In the early stages of the company's history, the product was wooden vessels. Following years of development, MBH now has its foundations in boats/vessels of aluminium and hydraulic deck equipment.

Presently, the company has two areas of production:
- Shipyard built vessels based on seawater resistant aluminium
- Development and manufacture of hydraulic deck equipment of aluminium

Since the middle of the 1980's there has been a great deal of positive expansion in the area of hydraulic ship equipment. Our products made of aluminium and acid resistant stainless steel are well known and accepted in the market. Our thrusters and stabilizing tanks are among these products.

The effect of our thrusters ranges from 30-500 hp. Stabilizing tanks are adapted to each vessel, whatever its size. In the development of our equipment, we have had the advantage of our long-term close relationship with our customers. Because of these facts, we are in the forefront when it comes to problem solving and the quality of our products.

In the early 1990's, we were commissioned by the Norwegian Naval Defence to supply the hydraulic deck equipment for their nine mine-sweepers which were built by Kværner Mandal. The delivery included cranes, capstans, anchor winches, cable winches, and winches for magnetic cable.

It is to these factors--the quality of our tailor-made designs, the resulting products, and our references-- that we give the credit for our increasing share in the market and the broad spectrum of our client-base.
